Accommodation


No 2 The Courtyard is a stone building in the heart of old Berwick, just minutes from the historic
ramparts, golf course, beaches, and of course, shopping. Especially popular is the second floor studio flat, sleeping 2-4, which can be rented separately if desired.

Our superior accommodation is on the first and second floors of the building. It is open all year round and sleeps up to 12 (7+5), plus cot.

First Floor

A flight of stairs leads up from a tiny but useful 'boot room' to a sitting room and dining room on the first floor with plenty of comfortable seating. A large sunny verandah features decking, pergola and climbing plants.

There is plenty of additional space as well as facilities for cleaning, drying and storing muddy boots and wet clothing in the boiler room/secure cycle store under the verandah.

Sitting Room

The newly refurbished sitting room now features a magnificent old stone fireplace, which we were delighted to discover behind an ugly '60's' gas conversion.  This now contains a cosy and efficient multifuel stove.

Kitchenette

The fully equipped first floor kitchenette has an electric ceramic-top cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer. Ample storage cupboards and equipment are provided, with a small freezer in the dining room for guests' convenience.

Shower Room

Spacious and also on this floor, fitted with heated towel rails, ample storage shelves, toilet and washbasin as well as a large 'top of the range' Mira shower.

Bedrooms

A double bedroom and 3-bedded room with single bed and bunk beds are situated on the first floor. Feather pillows are offered as an alternative to synthetic filling. A divan and bed-settee in the dining room provide 3 extra bed spaces.

Second Floor


Studio Living Room/Kitchen

This attractive comfortable and airy room, with fully equipped kitchen area, sleeps two on a comfortable good quality double bed-settee.

Twin bedroom

A delightful room with en suite toilet and washbasin.  Wonderful rooftops view!

Family bathroom

This is a good size and very well appointed, including cast iron bathtub, over-bath shower, toilet and
washbasin.

Children

A cot and high chair can be provided, but we feel that owing to the very limited outside space the
accommodation is perhaps not ideal for young children between 13 months and 8 years old.

Garden

An attractively planted courtyard garden belongs to the proprietor but is made available for guests’ private use in addition to the verandah.

Pets

Well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement with the proprietor.
